Terms & Conditions — Unit Converter

1. Licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, in accordance with these Terms and Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract the source code of the App, except as permitted by law.

2. The service

The App provides unit and currency conversion tools. A free tier is available to everyone. Additional features are available through the optional "Plus" subscription (section 3).

3. Plus subscription

3.1 What Plus includes. Plus is an auto-renewing subscription that unlocks additional converter categories, unlimited favourites, unlimited conversion history, history export (CSV/PDF), and hourly exchange-rate updates. Free users receive daily exchange-rate updates, up to 3 favourites, and access to their latest 50 history entries.

3.2 Plans and billing. Plus is offered as a monthly or annual subscription. Prices are shown in the App in your local currency before purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase and is processed entirely by Apple; we never receive or store your payment details.

3.3 Auto-renewal. Your subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your device's Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Plus access until the end of the paid period.

3.4 Refunds. Purchases are made through Apple, and refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's terms. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com. Except where required by law, we cannot issue refunds directly.

3.5 If your subscription lapses. Content you created while subscribed is never deleted when Plus ends. Your full history remains stored on your device (the App displays your latest 50 entries on the free tier), and favourites beyond the free limit remain saved but you cannot add more until you are under the limit or resubscribe.

3.6 Price changes. We may change subscription prices. Apple will notify you in advance of any price increase and, where required, seek your consent before it applies.

4. Accuracy of conversions — important disclaimer

4.1 General conversions are provided for convenience and general information only. While we take care to use accurate conversion factors, we do not warrant that results are error-free. Do not rely on the App as the sole basis for any decision where an incorrect result could cause harm or loss — including medical dosing, aviation, engineering, construction, scientific research, or legal or regulatory compliance. Always verify critical calculations with an authoritative source.

4.2 Currency conversions use indicative exchange rates sourced from third-party providers and updated periodically (daily on the free tier, hourly on Plus). Rates may be delayed, cached, or served from an offline fallback, and will differ from rates offered by banks, card issuers, or money-transfer services. Currency information in the App is not financial advice and must not be relied upon for trading, remittance, accounting, or any financial decision.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the App unlawfully, attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems (including the exchange-rate service), interfere with the App's operation, or use automated means to access our services at abusive volumes.

6. Intellectual property

The App, including its design, code, icons, and content, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms grant you no rights other than the licence in section 1.

7. Availability and changes

We may update, change, or discontinue features of the App (including the exchange-rate service) at any time. We will not remove paid functionality from an active, paid subscription period without providing a substantially equivalent alternative or a remedy available through Apple. Exchange-rate updates depend on third-party services and internet connectivity and are not guaranteed to be available at all times.

8. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under the law of England and Wales.

Subject to the above: (a) the App is provided "as is" and "as available", and all implied warranties are excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law; (b) we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from reliance on conversion results or exchange rates (see section 4); (c) we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss of data; and (d) our total aggregate liability to you in connection with the App is limited to the amount you paid us for the App in the 12 months before the claim arose.

If you are a consumer, these Terms do not affect your statutory rights.

9. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms. Sections 4, 6, 8, and 11 survive termination.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the effective date above and, where appropriate, by notice in the App. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you retain any mandatory protections and rights to bring proceedings in your country of residence.

12. Apple as third-party beneficiary

Apple is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the App or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App. In the event of the App's failure to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
